'B' or 'B*' Certificate – Life ('*' in Non-Public Schools)
- 'C' Certificate
- 3 Years in Area of Certification
- Successful Evaluation by Principal for 3 Years in Same Non-Public School in Areas of: Planning, Management, Instruction, and Professional Development
'A' or 'A*' Certificate – Life ('*' in Non-Public Schools)
- 'C<' 'B,' or 'B*' Certificate
- 5 Years in Area of Certification
- Master’s Degree
- Successful Evaluation by Principal for 3 Years in Same Non-Public School in Areas of: Planning, Management, Instruction, and Professional Development
Life Certification Suspended for 5 Year Absence from Teaching– Reinstated with 6 College Credit Hours
'*' Removed with Successful Completion of LaTAAP
The 123s of Certification (Began July 1, 2002)
Level 1 – Valid 3 Years
Level 2 or 2* - Valid 5 years, Renewable with 150 hours of Professional Development
- Level 1 Certificate
- 3 Years in Area of Certification
- Successful Evaluation by Principal for 3 Years in Same Non-Public School in Areas of: Planning, Management, Instruction, and Professional Development
